Admin — Blooming Minds

Connect your Firebase project

Your blog needs a free Firebase project to store posts. Follow these steps once — it takes about 5 minutes.

Create a Firebase project

Go to console.firebase.google.com, click Add project, name it "blooming-minds", and click Create.

Add a Web app to get your config

In your project, click the </> (Web) icon. Name it "Blog". Copy the firebaseConfig object shown.

Enable Firestore Database

Left sidebar → Firestore Database → Create database → Start in test mode → choose a region → Done.

Enable Email/Password Authentication

Left sidebar → Authentication → Get started → Email/Password → Enable → Save.

Set Firestore Security Rules

Firestore → Rules tab → replace all text with this, then Publish:

rules_version = '2'; service cloud.firestore { match /databases/{database}/documents { match /posts/{postId} { allow read: if resource.data.published == true; allow read, write: if request.auth != null; } } }

Paste your Firebase Config JSON

Publishing Posts to Your Live Site

Your blog is powered by Firebase Firestore — posts publish instantly after you click Publish. No redeployment needed for new posts. However, if you've just set up Firebase for the first time, you need to do this once:

Copy the config snippet above (the one shown in firebase-config.js format)
Open the file firebase-config.js in your project folder
Replace the empty values with your real config values
Run vercel --prod in your project folder
Done — your live blog will now load posts from Firebase
